Electric power steering systems use an electric motor to provide steering assistance. EPS systems are superior to conventional hydraulic power steering systems in energy efficiency, with regard to their size, cost and maintainance. They are attracting attention around the world as products that contribute to environmental conservation while enabling comfortable driving.
Melexis supplies both Hall effect and optical sensors for fast and accurate measurement of the steering angle, applied steering torque and motor position. Melexis has also developed custom ASICs and standard ASSPs to drive the electric servo motors. |
