MLX71122 Evaluation Program

This program is used to configure the MLX71122 Receiver.
Programming is done by interfacing the MLX71122 chip to the MLX-SPIUSB interface or the parallel port. The MLX-SPIUSB interface is used automatically if the installed hardware will be found while launching
the programm. Otherwise the parallel port will be activated.

If the MLX-SPIUSB interface will be used the USB driver has to be installed after connecting the interface. The drivers are located in the installation directory \Melexis\MLX71122_V32\MLX_SPIUSB_Driver.

USBSPI interface is connected as follows:
pin 1 -> MLX71122 SDEN (Serial Enable)
pin 2 -> MLX71122 SDTA (Serial Data)
pin 3 -> MLX71122 SCLK (Serial Clock)
pin 4 -- MLX71122 VEEDIG (EVB ground)
pin 5 <- MLX71122 MFO (Multi Functional Output)

The driver for the parallel port will be copied into the system directory
during the installation.

Parallel port is connected as follows:
LPTx D0 (pin 2) -> MLX71122 SDEN (Serial Enable)
LPTx D1 (pin 3) -> MLX71122 SCLK (Serial Clock)
LPTx D2 (pin 4) -> MLX71122 SDTA (Serial Data)
LPTx BUSY (pin 11) <- MLX71122 MFO (Multi Functional Output)
LPTx GND (pin 18-25) -- MLX71122 VEEDIG (EVB ground)

The MLX71122 program will run on Windows2000 and Windows XP. The program uses TVicPort I/O driver to interface to the parallel port.

By default, the program installs the software under the directory:
C:\Program Files\Melexis\MLX71122
The following files are installed:
MLX71122.exe - MLX71122 evaluation program
MLX71122.ini - init file of evaluation program
TVicPort.DLL - DriverLINX Port I/O DLL
\MLX_SPIUSB_Driver\mchpusb.cat - USB driver
\MLX_SPIUSB_Driver\MLX-SPIUSB.inf - USB driver
\MLX_SPIUSB_Driver\mchpusb.sys - USB driver
\MLX_SPIUSB_Driver\mchpusb64.sys - USB driver

Additionally, the driver for parallel port will be copied into the system directory
e.g. (C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS)
(administrator access is necessary for this operation!)
