TH7122 Using an External Microprocessor Reference Oscillator (RO)
If an external reference is supplied to the reference oscillator input the frequency range is from 1 MHz to 16 MHz. This falls nicely within the range of almost all microprocessor references, so it is possible to use the same crystal for both the microprocessor and the TH7122. This can be a significant cost saving in many applications.
