3-wire Latching sensor - Low voltage - MLX92212

Product description

This family of digital output Hall-effect sensors target operation between 2.5 V and 5.5 V, making them suitable for pairing with many low power microcontrollers in embedded systems. Both the Hall IC and the user defined microcontroller can share power supply and remain active down to 2.5 V. The MLX92212 family of parts requires less operating current than competing digital Hall-effect sensors.

The MLX92212LSE-AAA and MLX92212LSE-ABA are built on advanced CMOS processes to deliver robust, automotive quality at a competitive price point. Melexis experience in Hall IC design and manufacturing assure the designer of excellent stability in the magnetic switch point drift over temperature and lifetime. Emphasis on durability resulted in a design with 8kV ESD (HBM) withstand, excellent temperature drift performance across the full -40 °C to 150 °C automotive temperature range and validation testing to AEC-Q100 standards.

The MLX92212LSE-AAA is a magnetic Hall-effect bipolar latch designed to work with bipolar magnetic fields. Common applications include BLDC motor commutation, speed sensing and magnetic encoders. Typical automotive uses include anti-trap, anti-pinch window lift controls, automatic door, hatch and side step systems and automatic power seat position encoders.

The MLX92212LSE-ABA is a magnetic Hall-effect unipolar switch designed to work in applications with only the presence and absence of a unipolar South magnetic field. Typical applications include simple magnetic proximity sensing, interlocks in covers and hatches or ferrous vane interrupt sensors for precise position and timing applications.

The MLX92212LSE-AAA and MLX92212LSE-ABA are delivered in an industry standard 3-pin surface mount JEDEC outline TSOT-23 package. All devices are lead-free and RoHS compliant.
