Universal Motor Control with the MLX80339 code-free
The MLX80339 is a code-free 3-phase BLDC motor controller IC designed for a wide range of applications across multiple industries. It efficiently drives small, sensorless 3-phase fan and pump motors up to 40W. It is ideal for devices such as server cooling fans and residential fans.
Its pre-validated logic and intuitive interface enable rapid deployment without the need for software development.
The IC is compatible with both PWM and serial control interfaces, making it a flexible motor driver for currents < 2 A. The ability to communicate with an ECU via a digital I2C and UART interface, as well as a legacy PWM/FG interface, provides flexibility for integration into existing and new systems.
Its minimal PCB design further enhances its suitability for various industrial applications with space constraints.
The MLX80339 supports a supply voltage range from 5.5V to 26V and features an integrated motor bridge driver. It includes extensive protection and diagnostic features, such as undervoltage, overvoltage, overcurrent, and overtemperature detection and protection.
