The MLX81100 controls, diagnoses and protects a reversible DC motor application using only simple power NMOSFETs. It integrates all standard automotive protections to plug it directly on to the 12V board net, including over-voltage, short circuit and load dump (40V) protection. The integrated MOSFET gate-driver and FET monitoring circuits on one chip make additional FET predriving circuits superfluous and reduces significantly the systems BOM.
The extended high temperature operating range up to 150°C ambient temperature make it possible to use this highly integrated solution also for those application with higher ambient temperatures. This makes it possible to use this IC especially for mechatronic applications where the driving electronic is directly connected to the actuator.
Together with our certified LIN driver (physical and protocol) the development of LIN applications is simplified.
For postion detection the MLX81100 can be easy interfaced to the Melexis absolut position sensor MLX90316 as well as standard hall positioon sensors. |
