Functional Safety

Safety functions are increasingly being carried out by electrical, electronic or programmable electronic systems. With the expanding trend of complexity, of software content and of mechatronic implementation, challenges are rising towards pro-active risk management already during development.

ISO 26262 (also known as ASIL or Automotive Safety Integrity Level) is a norm that shall ensure the functional safety of an electronic system in a road vehicle by adequate risk management.

At Melexis we are already working closely with our customers to address their safety application needs as per this standard. Upon request Melexis can provide information based on customer specific requirements to enable our customers to meet functional safety criteria during the safety lifecycle of safety related systems.

Melexis intention is to support customers in applying relevant elements of ISO 26262 for the application at hand.
