REACH Information
The European Community released an additional regulation on safe use of chemicals called REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals).
All manufacturers and importers of chemicals must identify and manage risks linked to the substances they manufacture and market. For substances produced or imported in quantities of 1 metric ton or more per year per company, manufacturers and importers need to demonstrate that they have appropriately done so by means of a registration dossier, which must be submitted to the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA).
Melexis does not import nor produce articles that contain substances that are released under normal or reasonably foreseeable conditions of use, therefore we will not register the substances in our articles. As we are not potential registrants, we will not pre-register either.
Therefore we would like to inform you that Melexis will not pre-register, nor register our substances in articles, as mentioned in art. 28 and art. 7 §1 of the REACH directive.
