Your future job

The purpose of this role is to build a strong technical expertise on the Melexis Time of Flight (TOF) and image sensing products. Based on this expertise help the customers select and implement the best Melexis product that will provide the functionality desired and, when necessary, provide technical assistance throughout the design cycle from development through production. 

The successful candidate will have customer orientation, be a proactive communicator, be self-driven and be willing to spend extensive time in Belgium for training.

Technical Expertise

1) Customer Support – Opportunity support (85%) coordinated by Regional Sales Manager in alignment with related PLM

Support customer with the selection of the right product for their application.

Provide detailed knowledge of the Time of Flight and image sensing products and a highlevel  knowledge of the other Melexis products.

Be able to explain the “Unique Selling Propositions”, benchmark with competitors, technical advantages, and technical limitations for the various products.

Build strong customer relations through their technical knowledge at various levels of the customer’s organization.

Perform independent customer visits and log important details of the visit in Salesforce.

Proactively and independently ensure technical hurdles are overcome to move customer applications from development to production. 

2) Product Support (15%)

Provide Voice of Customer to the appropriate Melexis teams as required Create customer demos, evaluation kits, and reference designs as required 

When necessary act as a coordinator for various activities between the customer and Melexis quality team. 

3) Technical Competencies

Experience with TOF and/or competing 3D vision or range sensing technologies

Experience with system level engineering, preferably imaging systems

Ability to understand and explain IC datasheet parameters

Fluent in 2 or more common SW development languages e.g. Python and C

Familiar with image processing techniques and/or common tools e.g. OpenPCL, OpenCV, ...



BS degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Computer Engineering

2-3 years of experience in the semiconductor industry                                          

Technical expertise acquired at the system/application level:

Hardware: Schematic capture and PCB layout.

Software programming: Python and C+ Simulation tools and capability:

Tolerance stack up via Excel or other tool

General electronics: Knowledge of IC manufacturing and packages, uses and selection of discrete components (resistors, capacitors, etc).

Application testing and calibration: Ability to use various lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and power supplies.

High level understanding of the functions of the IC design (ADC, DAC, S&H, etc) at block level in order to build the bridge between the application and IC functionalities.

Understanding of electronics solutions for the customer applications, cost drivers, alternatives, technologies and positions on the market.

Proven communication skills. Fluency in written and spoken English – other customer
languages are a plus
