As a Distribution Manager at Melexis, you will play a strategic role in driving business in the US Market.  You will be responsible for co-developing sales plans with a portfolio of distribution partners, and Manufacturers Representatives as part of creating a comprehensive Channel Go-To-Market strategy and then executing it. We will be relying on your in depth expertise and experience within the channel to drive design wins and corresponding revenues to new heights.

Following our comprehensive onboarding programme, you will know Melexis’ growing product range in great detail and will be ready to inspire your customers with it.
We will be expecting you to take full responsibility for your own schedule and travel agenda. With a flexible home office arrangement, we envisage that you will be visiting your distribution partners and their customers up to 3 to 4 days per week; the how, when and where is totally up to you. More specifically, you will

  • Manage the assigned customers’ relationship on a worldwide basis and handle worldwide contracts and claims to create a win-win for both the customers and Melexis
  • Assure the coherency of the worldwide key accounts related strategies and tactics
  • Drive and implement together with the stakeholders of the sales process the strategy and business plan for the assigned customers and distributors to achieve sustainable revenues and profit goals, including but not limited to the following: build up intelligence (through website, yearly report, articles, competition trends & behavior, economic & technological trends, etc.) about the customer; develop and maintain relationships with customers through various means of communication including regular face-to-face contacts
  • identify potential matches between the customer and distributor needs and Melexis offering and follow them up by supporting the relevant BU and the regional sales team members to ensure the progress and secure design-win 
  • ensure progress is made in relation to the NBOs worldwide, keep track of, analyze and report on the status and reasons for gains or losses
  • accomplish the pivotal role for contract negotiations, conduct the yearly price negotiations based on internal agreement and frame set by the relevant BUMs
  • assure coherent strategies and tactics across the regions where customer is present
  • Be an internal voice of the assigned key account(s) within the Melexis organization to ensure a spirit of confidence is established with the customer including but not limiting to the following: 
  • anticipate and resolve issues between the customer and Melexis by offering the escalation path for legal, quality, finance and logistics related problems and ensure that any customer is handled and managed properly by the assigned department 
  •  communicate within the Melexis organization about the general status, issues and opportunities at the account 
  • validate the forecasts of every assigned key account on a monthly basis 
  • keep Customer Relations, Quality, BU teams informed about the specific needs of each assigned key account and provide updated information / communication between Melexis and the key account relevant for the specific Function 
  • Draft and negotiate commercial contracts, coordinate the contractual framework (e.g. quality 
    contracts) for any customer of Melexis worldwide in order to ensure they comply with the legal and 
    strategic Melexis requirements 
  • Manage substantial claims handling for any customer of Melexis worldwide to balance the Melexis 
    interests and the long term customer relationship

Your profile

  • You preferably have an engineering degree
  • You are an experienced professional in technical sales or as a field applications engineer
  • Experience with semiconductor distribution channels would be a big asset
  • Prepared to visit the customer premise on an as needed basis and to take immediate action in emergency cases 
  • Learn continuously, is energetic, assertive, promotes a positive attitude even in adverse circumstances and is able to make sound and objective judgments 
  • Ready to travel about 15-20% of work time
