As a FACILITY MANAGER, you ensure the continuous, efficient, environmental-friendly and safe functioning of the company infrastructure, buildings and premises. You are part of the local site management team in Ieper and you report to the Regional Site Manager Belgium. 
You also take up the responsibility of PREVENTION ADVISOR of the Ieper site.

More specifically, you will

  • Lead a team of facility technicians (Ieper), a prevention advisor and facility coordinator (Tessenderlo)

  • Be based in Ieper and coordinate all activities for this site. At the same time, as teamlead of the facility & safety organization for the Belgian sites (Ieper & Tessenderlo), you actively look for synergies and share best practices with your team in Tessenderlo

  • Ensure the facilities and premises are in line with the latest health, labor and safety legislation and environmental standards (e.g. availability of all required licenses and permits) 

  • Establish the facility & prevention budget and ensure a close follow-up

  • Be responsible for the maintenance coordination (regular, preventive and corrective maintenance) of the building, its infrastructure and surrounding premises.  

  • Coordinate the selection and management of the facility & safety related suppliers

  • Coordinate contracts with companies, service providers, suppliers and local authorities (e.g. cleaning, security, legal verification & control, HVAC, electricity)

  • Ensure adequate building supply (e.g. water, power, gas, heating, air conditioning)
  • Plan and guarantee follow up of facility projects (e.g. construction, refurbishment)
  • Develop, implement and follow up of facility and safety related policies, procedures & KPI 
  • Ensure that all facility related projects are prepared and executed at a high quality level and documented according to the internal quality regulations
  • Propose improvements for the facility, premises and infrastructure (e.g. operation, energy consumption, cost savings by means of continuous improvement, best practice learning)
  • Lead initiatives to set up office facilities that provide the appropriate working environment and promote the Melexis brand (exterior/interior)
  • Be responsible for the building access system
  • Ensure priority accuracy in handling the Facilities support ticket system
  • Be responsible for the health & safety organization (all legal tasks as prevention advisor)

Your profile

  • Certifications / knowledge
  • BA or professional education in Facility Management
  • Prevention advisor level 2 is a must, level 1 is a plus
  • Local safety regulations
  • Procedures for submitting and follow up of building permit applications
  • Building supply regulations
  • Knowledge about facility related environmental inspections and levers towards continuous improved sustainability.
  • Technical understanding of building control and equipment (fire extinguisher, HVAC, compressors)
  • ISO14001 is a must, IATF is a plus
  • BA4/BA5 is a plus
