As a lead data engineer at Melexis, you will be a key player in building our future data architecture and in realising a multitude of (big) data projects within the manufacturing domain. Your key responsibilities, in collaboration with the data architect and the rest of the data engineering team, will be to:
Develop a strong understanding of the manufacturing domain, the strategic direction and user needs.
- Act as the data engineering representative within production.
Drive the overall technical architecture from data perspective.
Provide additional insights for the various business teams.
Help define the state-of-the-art hybrid cloud data infrastructure.
Set up data pipelines from a multitude of systems towards our cloud platform.
You have a master degree in an informatics, engineering, analytics or related field (or equivalent by experience) with preferably at least 5 years of experience in a similar role.
You have a practical knowledge of and experience with data engineering technologies, tools and platforms (e.g. PySpark, SQL, ETL using e.g. Databricks).
You have already worked with structured as well as unstructured data sets.
Relational and dimensional database modelling experience and knowledge of data warehouses, data lakes and databases is also a necessary asset.
- Hands-on Python programming skills are a must have.
Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Google Cloud and AWS is an advantage.
You are passionate about data, analytics and solving business problems.
