Project Description

As an intern at Melexis, you will develop the embedded software for our cutting-edge devices, primarily the Magnetic Position Sensors using mainly the embedded version of RISC-V processors. You will have access to the libraries and our legacy software code of the previous generations of our products and can use it as a reference. 

More specifically you will:

  • Design the embedded software: read data from the physical sensor, process this data and communicate it to an external CPU or a PC.

  • Debug your SW. You will be provided with a prototype of the semiconductor device in FPGA.

  • Innovate: you will design the SW using a very new hardware and CPU so be ready to experiment.

Expected results

  • Working software on the target platform

  • Comparison of the performance of the newly designed SW with the SW code of our previous products

  • Documentation of design alternatives and impact on timing, memory allocation, etc.

Requirements

  •  Interest in microcontroller architectures, software and programming
  •  Analytical mindset: design alternatives need to be compared and documented
  •  Some C programming experience (or similar language)
  •  Willingness to learn and discover new things
