Your future job

As Sensor Design Engineer at Melexis, you drive the development of new sensing devices and technologies according to the business and technology roadmap for the magnetic sensor team. The focus will be on micromagnetics. 

 

More specifically, you will:

  • Investigate, in simulation and in the lab, the physics of ferromagnetic thin-films and micro wires.

  • Apply your physics knowledge to conceive novel magnetic sensors, and conduct feasibility studies.

  • Monitor market and scientific trends in micro-magnetic.

  • Manage and lead innovation projects.

Your profile

  • Curious and open.

  • Demonstrated expertise in micromagnetics.

  • PhD in (applied) physics, material science or equivalent, with 3 to 5 years. professional experience in a relevant field.

  • Advanced knowledge of Comsol or equivalent physics-based simulation tools, 

    in particular to study micromagnetic effects on magnetic transducers, e.g.  study the effects of annealing on skin effect of soft magnetic thin films under applied external field.
  • Awareness of semiconductor chip design is a plus.

  • Self-driven and passionate about microsystems, sensors, or related technology.

  • Outstanding analytical skills and ability to translate insight into novel solutions.

  • Experience in organizing and conducting experimental tasks and device characterization.

  • Working level knowledge of project management (feasibility, planning, leading a project team, reporting, risk management).

  • Effective communication skills in English.
