Your future job

As a Sensor Design Engineer for biosensing applications at Melexis, you will drive the development of new biosensing devices and technologies according to the business and technology roadmap of the Innovation team.

More specifically, you will:

  • Develop innovative, patentable solutions and lay the technological foundations for our development of electronic platform and bio-functionalized layers.

  • Perform feasibility studies in order to assess the technical challenges, risks, and budget.

  • Prototype and characterize the most promising concepts in the lab, and seek feedback from prospective customers.

  • Manage and lead your own innovation projects, possibly in coordination with academic and industrial partners.

  • Propose innovative sensor concepts.

  • Support customers and partners with demonstrators, technical information, characterization data, etc.

  • Support internal market research for biosensors in emerging applications (e.g. wearables,  point-of-care diagnostics).

Your profile

  • Curious and open

  • Master or PhD degree in biomedical engineering and/or microelectronics, physics or equivalent.

  • Hands-on experience with biosensors.

  • Familiarity with integrated circuits technology

  • Self-driven and passionate about microsystems, sensors, or related technology

  • Outstanding analytical skills and ability to translate insight into novel solutions

  • Experience in organizing and conducting experimental tasks and device characterization

  • Track record of project management skills (feasibility, planning, leading a project team, reporting, risk management)

  • Effective communication skills in English
