Project Description

We are developing digital circuits that are used in automotive safety critical systems: brakes, steering wheel, cruise control, etc… but as the world is analog, we need to digitize  physical measurements (temperatures, voltages, current) thanks to an analog to digital Converter (ADC). In order to  quickly and efficiently integrate our brand new silicon on insulator (SOI) 0.11um technology node ADC, we want to model it with state of the art techniques to speed-up simulation time and physical verification.

During this internship you will have the opportunity to learn various aspects of the microelectronic:
ADC structure
Modelizations: timing, power and behavioral
SPICE and Verilog simulations
Physical implementation

You will also get basic knowhow of Cadence tools for simulation and physical verification.

Expected results

  • The target of this internship is to create simulation and physical models as accurate as possible considering the speed of simulation, the size of the model and final accuracy of results. 
  • Optionally, also port the methodology to other technologies.
