Project Description

With deep submicron technologies, and particularly with silicon on insulator (SOI), the bigger the  impact of parasitics on signal integrity is. There exists different ways to model and extract parasitics with pros and cons, i.e accuracy vs simulation speed, accuracy vs disk size and so on.

During this internship you will have the opportunity to learn various aspects of the microelectronic:
Signal Integrity
Parasitic extraction
Physical Design 

You will also get basic knowhow of Cadence tools for simulation and sign-off timing analysis.


Expected results

  • The target of this internship is to benchmark state of the art parasitics extractors on 3 criterias (accuracy, speed, disk size),
  • to propose an optimal usage of it at different stages of the physical implementation process.

Your profile

  • Master 1
  • Basic knowledge of physics of semiconductor
