Your future mission

As an intern at Melexis, you will design a novel force sensor based on a Hall effect sensor and a magnet in combination with discrete mechanical springs. This can be a Master's thesis or an internship.

More specifically, you will:

  • Study state of the art in tactile force sensor in robotics and mm-scale springs.

  • Design, manufacture and optimize a system which a magnet suspended on springs.

  • Characterize the system and compare it to state of the art performances.

  • Integrate the sensor in a robotic equipment.

Expected results

  • Comparative study of the sensor against state-of-the-art technologies
  • Working prototype of the sensor
  • Live demonstration in a robot

Requirements

  • Familiarity with integrated sensor and mechanical systems

  • Data analysis and programming skills (ideally in Python)

  • Being handy and creative is a plus

We offer
