Project Description
As an intern in Automatic & Robotic, you will simulate and demonstrate the feasibility of loading and unloading automatically the taper handler “ISMECA NY20”, using URx robot in “robot” and/or “cobot” mode.
.Define the best gripper for the tube(s) and reel (vs production risk)
Design, simulate and optimize the setup you propose.
Build/Create the setup in a safe development area (not in production).
Perform measurement to confirm: performance (timing), accuracies and repeatability.
Define/Propose improvement needed to create a production version.
Project Goals
- Create a first “laboratory” solution to automate tubes and reel handling of standard Tape on Reel equipment (ISMECA NY20).
Your profile
- Good robotic and programming skills.
- You enjoy challenges and get inspired by “building” a technical solution.
- You feel comfortable with basic mechanical and electrical design.
- Look for creative and cost-effective solutions.
- You are independent (MLX rules and procedure are limited) and ensure timely open communication with the team.
- We expect full project documentation(s) in English.
Duration & Location
- The project duration is flexible, estimated to be 4 months.
- We are flexible for the start and end dates.
- The work will be based at Melexis Ieper (Rozendaalstraat 12, 8900 Ieper).
- Partial remote location is an option (no need to be at MLX site each day/week).
