The MLX91241 is a monolithic Hall-effect current sensor IC sensitive to flux density applied orthogonally to the IC surface, delivering an analog output voltage proportional to magnetic flux density. Engineered specifically for high-power monitoring in electrification systems, such as EV traction inverters, 48 V boost recuperation, DC-DC converters, and solar inverters, it delivers fast response in high-speed power electronics.
In a typical application, the sensor is placed in the air gap of a C-Core (ring-shaped soft ferromagnetic core) surrounding a bus bar or cable to concentrate flux and reject external magnetic field disturbances. The sensor transfer characteristic is factory-trimmed over temperature and end-of-line customer-programmable (offset and sensitivity) via a 1-pin protocol that can be implemented on any standard MCU without requiring a proprietary programmer
