Internship: IC Development for Power Supply Monitoring System in advanced CMOS Technology - Bevaix, Switzerland
Location: Bevaix (NE) Switzerland – 6 months
Your future job
As an intern at Melexis, you will design a precision, robust, power-efficient supply monitoring system as a part of a complex position sensor integrated circuit (IC).
More specifically, you will:
Investigate various comparator architectures for accuracy and robustness, e.g. industrial, automotive, etc.
Investigate and apply circuit techniques for low-offset and low-noise sensing for high-accuracy applications
Investigate low-power circuit techniques and understand trade-offs between consumption vs. robustness
Build systematic verification plan and perform transistor-level spice simulations
Create analog models for behavioral simulations towards high-level system integration
Layout your design for analog precision and perform post-layout parasitic extracted netlist simulations
Expected results
Implement a precision supply monitoring system following standard IC design flow, to bring the design ready for tapeout for industrial and automotive applications
Develop knowledge in analog design concepts, e.g. offset and noise, and supply systems in a broader aspect
Experience the whole design cycle in a “real-world” manufacturing company environment
Final report , documentation and presentation of the design: including conceptualization, schematic implementation, analysis and simulation result, etc.
Your profile
Basic knowledge of analog circuits, transistor-level design and device physics.
Good knowledge of analog design (Cadence Virtuoso) and simulation tools (Spectre)
Conceptual understanding and hands-on experience in analog circuit layout in submicron CMOS technologies
Good communication skills in verbal and written English
Last year electrical/microengineering student or fresh graduate seeking for experience in industrial IC design
