Product description

The MLX92344 is a revolutionary monolithic sensor IC sensitive to perpendicular or lateral magnetic fields. Designed to meet the stringent demands of modern automotive body electronics, it introduces an industry-first approach to programmable multi-position detection within a single device.

By providing up to four discrete output states over a standard two-wire interface, a single MLX92344 can fully replace complex, space-consuming dual-sensor or multi-microswitch configurations. The supply current for each state is independently programmable from 3 mA to 28 mA, enabling tight state separation (±0.5 mA tolerances) that perfectly aligns with existing ECU input windows without requiring hardware changes.

Developed as a Safety Element out of Context (SEooC) in accordance with ISO 26262 (ASIL B), the MLX92344 features robust on-chip diagnostic mechanisms. In the event of a fault, the device transitions to a dedicated safe state.

Furthermore, End-of-Line (EoL) programmability allows manufacturers to calibrate away mechanical assembly tolerances directly in production to maximize system accuracy.

Development Support

Production calibration is fully supported via the PTC-04 programmer. For engineering development, you can also use the LatchSwitchEVB2.

Applications

  • Automotive Body Electronics: Seat track position monitoring (3 or 4 positions for adaptive airbag deployment), e-frunk / front hood latch locking mechanisms, steering column extension detection, smart charging port doors, and smooth soft-closing door systems.
  • Industrial & Industrial Mobility: Robotics, smart appliances, smart buildings, and energy management systems.
