As a Functional Safety Manager, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and reliability of our products. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement and maintain functional safety processes throughout the entire product development lifecycle, with a focus on product development starting with ensuring the correct safety requirements are defined at the definition phase and finishing with a positive assessment before handing over to Manufacturing.

More specifically you will: 

• Support business units in functional safety activities during product development
• Plan and coordinate all functional safety-related activities
• Conduct assessments and confirmation reviews
• Contribute to product development processes and provide feedback to the process owners (PO community)
• Balance your responsibilities between functional safety management, Development Quality Assurance (DQA) activities, and process improvement
• Collaborate with project managers and all team members to achieve project goals while ensuring compliance with functional safety standards.
• Interact with customers on functional safety related elements.

Your profile

• Master's degree in engineering
• Preferably 5+ years of experience as a Functional Safety Manager or 10 years of other relevant working experience
• Experience in the automotive development industry
• Knowledge of automotive safety standards and practices, especially IATF16949 and ISO 26262
• Knowledge on ISO 21434 IEC61508 ISO62061 and ASPICE are an advantage.
• Experience in assessments and auditing
• Strong communication and negotiation skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with project managers
