Project description
On the production floor of Melexis, microchips are being tested and calibrated on a whole series of parameters in order to make sure only chips passing all necessary quality checks are being shipped to the customers. Our engineers develop test solutions on our Automated Test Equipment (ATE), machines that integrate all systems (power supplies, function generators, multimeters, oscilloscopes, data loggers, …) that are required to measure the functionality of our devices. Training new hires on the ATE is an intensive process for which we are updating our training curriculum that introduces all the features step-by-step. This includes both theory and practical exercises on programming and hardware debugging.
As an Intern you will get hands-on training, propose improvements and explore the implementation of those improvements.
Project goals
- Get to know our ATE with the current training process and apply the practical exercises.
- Suggest improvements for the curriculum (order of topics, pace, exercises, ...).
- Implement the suggested improvements: design printed circuit boards (PCBs) for exercises, generate example code.
- Enjoy hands-on engineering!
