Your future job
As a Data Engineer at Melexis, you will be a key player in building our future data architecture and in realizing a multitude of data-related projects. You will become an expert in state-of-the-art data infrastructure (capturing, analyzing, maintaining) and be part of the team responsible for designing and developing:
- our state-of-the-art hybrid cloud data infrastructure,
- data pipelines from a multitude of systems towards our cloud platform,
- data processing systems (on-site and in the cloud) for both structured and unstructured data,
- advanced conceptual, logical and physical data organizations, models, repositories, dashboards and reports.
This specific Data Engineer role focuses on the centralization and unification of the data coming from the different product development teams, such as product characterization measurements, various simulations, as well as contextual meta-data. Key responsibilities will include gathering and processing the data from the diverse source systems coming in different formats, as well as centralizing the data in our cloud environment. These data play a crucial role across different business units, requiring you to collaborate and effectively communicate with many stakeholders to fulfill their project and data requirements.
Your profile
- You have a Bachelor's or Master's degree in IT or Engineering (or equivalent experience), preferably with at least 3 years of experience in a similar role.
- You have practical knowledge of and experience with data processing, and data engineering technologies, tools, and platforms (e.g., PySpark, SQL, ETL using Databricks).
- You have experience working with structured as well as unstructured datasets.
- Hands-on Python programming skills
- Experience in cloud computing (Azure/AWS/GCP)
- You possess excellent communication, analytical, and critical thinking skills. You can express complex matters precisely and concisely and see the bigger picture while understanding nuances.
- You have a strong interest in engineering and research and are passionate about building data solutions in a state-of-the-art environment. You are eager to learn and grow in a high-tech company.
