Process Engineer - Kuching, Malaysia
Your future job
As a Process Engineer at Melexis, you will lead the development, improvement, and release of manufacturing equipment, tools (hardware and software), or processes—either in-house or with subcontractors—as part of process development projects or improvement programmes.
More specifically, you will:
- Collect information from internal and external customers to identify required developments and improvements, in line with the process roadmap.
- Perform feasibility studies and concept designs, including subcontractor selection and risk assessments (PFMEA), to ensure chosen solutions meet current and future Melexis needs.
- Plan and perform engineering tests, applying advanced statistical and scientific methods to ensure process performance.
- Lead prototyping, characterisation, and verification of defined processes or equipment parameters to ensure specifications are achieved.
- Ensure smooth transfer to production in accordance with Melexis rules, and conduct initial training to enable manufacturing teams to be self-sufficient. Provide procedures, calibration, and maintenance instructions as required.
- Support manufacturing beyond process release to achieve target process KPIs.
Your profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Electronic Engineering or another relevant Industrial Engineering field.
- Minimum 5 years of related experience, preferably in the semiconductor equipment field.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing automation concepts and solutions.
- Familiar with process control techniques (SPC, measurement system analysis).
- Knowledge of risk assessment techniques, DFMEA/PFMEA, equipment release criteria, and OEE.
- Familiarity with reliability, failure analysis, and characterisation processes.
- Strong project management skills.
- Ability to create and deploy work, calibration, and maintenance instructions.
- Capability to develop and validate processes using software and/or hardware development.
- Solid understanding of developing and validating dedicated measurement systems.
- Fluency in English with excellent communication skills.
- Willingness to travel to other sites.
