As the Vice President Business Unit Current Sensors, you will lead the BU with full accountability for strategy, P&L performance, portfolio direction, and leadership development, ensuring sustainable market leadership.
You will balance the defense and growth of Melexis’ automotive stronghold with the acceleration of adjacent and new growth domains—notably Robotics, Alternative Mobility, and Digital Health. Leveraging Melexis’ micro-electronics heritage, you will translate long-term sensing challenges into scalable business opportunities.
Reporting to the Chief Business Officer, you will act as the primary integrator between BU execution and corporate strategy, ensuring alignment, focus, and value creation.

Key accountabilities:

 BU Strategy & Business Leadership

• Define, own, and execute the 5–10 year BU strategy and roadmap, anticipating structural shifts in mobility, automation, and human-machine interaction.
• Translate corporate strategy into clear BU priorities, investment choices, and portfolio direction.
• Balance long-cycle automotive businesses with faster innovation cycles in emerging domains, ensuring disciplined growth without compromising profitability
• Own the BU P&L, driving sustainable revenue growth, gross margin performance, and long-term value creation.

Manage Portfolio & Growth

• Own the BU portfolio strategy, consolidating Product Line roadmaps into a coherent BU plan aligned with corporate priorities.
• Sponsor and validate new business creation initiatives from a BU P&L perspective, including early-stage opportunities and adjacent market entries.
• Ensure effective resource allocation across product lines, balancing short-term execution and long-term capability building.
• Contribute actively to corporate portfolio decisions, in close collaboration with Product Marketing and Corporate Marketing.

Lead Markets, Customers & Ecosystems

• Lead the BU by developing executive-level relationships with key customers, OEMs, Tier 1s, and strategic partners.
• Sponsor and lead strategic partnerships, alliances, and long-term business agreements critical to BU growth.
• Ensure strong alignment with Global Sales and Account Management to accelerate time from sampling to design win and achieve annual design-win targets.
• Validate BU-level pricing strategies and support major commercial negotiations.

Oversee Operational Governance & Execution

• Ensure robust BU execution by setting direction, priorities, and performance expectations, while delegating operational delivery to Product     Lines and functional leaders.
• Guarantee high quality, service, and delivery performance across the product lifecycle, with effective escalation and decision-making mechanisms.
• Ensure that demand planning, capacity alignment, and inventory levels support customer commitments and BU financial objectives.
• Drive a culture of continuous improvement, data-driven decision making, and disciplined execution.

Develop Talent & Drive DEI

• Inclusive Talent Pipeline: Actively design and lead a diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) strategy within the BU. Ensure that hiring and promotion processes mitigate bias and actively seek out underrepresented talent in the engineering and commercial fields.
• Global Leadership Culture: Foster a culture of psychological safety and high performance. Act as a mentor and coach to high-potential leaders, ensuring a robust and diverse succession plan for all critical BU roles.
• Organizational Agility: Allocate and develop talent not just for current product lines, but for the future capabilities required in a rapidly changing technical landscape.

Corporate Leadership Contribution

• Act as a member of the senior leadership community, contributing the BU perspective to corporate strategy, planning, and decision-making.
• Work closely with the CBO and executive peers to optimize outcomes at company level, balancing BU interests with global priorities

Your profile

• Master’s degree in engineering or equivalent; background in micro-electronics strongly preferred.
• Proven track record in leading a business, BU, or product group within semiconductors or a closely related industry.
• Experience managing cross-functional teams and interfacing at executive and board level.
• Fluent in English; additional languages (Dutch, French, German, Mandarin) are an asset.
• Leadership Profile: We are looking for a BU General Manager who combines strategic ambition with operational discipline—a leader who understands that  the future of sensing spans from the safety systems of next-generation vehicles to the precision and trust required in human-robot collaboration and digital health.
