Internship: Development of a Differential Magnetic Characterization Setup (Golay Coils) - Bevaix, Switzerland

Location: Bevaix (NE) – 6 months

Your future job

As an intern at Melexis, you will develop and validate a differential magnetic field characterization setup using Golay coils.
More specifically, you will:
Optimize Golay coil geometry and simulate performance to ensure precise field gradients, linearity, and sensitivity.
Assemble, calibrate, and test the physical coil system with prototype magnetic sensors to evaluate accuracy and robustness.

Expected results
A fully operational, calibrated measurement setup utilizing Golay coils for differential magnetic field characterization.
A comprehensive set of simulation results validating the coil design and performance.
A characterization report detailing the system's sensitivity, linearity, and overall measurement accuracy.

Your profile

Master’s student in Electrical Engineering or Mechatronics with electromagnetic simulation experience (e.g., COMSOL).
Proactive and team-oriented with practical hardware prototyping and lab skills.

We offer

Join Melexis to build your expertise in a high-tech, international environment alongside a friendly, dynamic team of experts. Located at our Bevaix site - a specialized center for magnetic, inductive, pressure, and current sensors - you will collaborate directly on cutting-edge developments within our active innovation center focused on robotics and biosensors.
