The MLX90285 is a really cool driving solution for silent brushless cooling fans. It provides a robust, high performance and fully integrated Hall-effect based fan driver IC, including technology lowering both acoustic and electrical noise. This device is ready to serve demanding cooling requirements in office equipment or consumer electronics such as laser printers, projectors or flat-screen televisions.
Highly integrated (all-in-one) fan driver
Our MLX90285 includes the Hall sensor and power electronics on a single piece of silicon, thus greatly reducing external component counts and printed circuit board complexity.
Cool and silent
This fan driver device suits numerous cooling applications as it operates from 5 to 24 V. The low voltage operation down to 5 V even allows for use in speed control applications where supply voltage is reduced to lower the cooling fan rotation speed.
The device is also able to operate within an ambient temperature from -40 to 150°C. Therefore, the high operating temperature makes the device attractive also for industrial or automotive applications.
NO VDD fan driver
The MLX90285 is a no-VDD fan driver. Thanks to the patented no-VDD concept, integrated FG- and RD- options are available in a 4-pin through-hole VK package and 8-pin surface mount Small Outline Integrated Circuit (SOIC) package.
Respectful of the environment, both VK and SOIC packages are fully “Green” compliant including notably RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances), lead-free (Pb-Free) and halogen-free compliance.
