Product description

The MLX90411 is a low-noise all-in-one single-coil fan driver IC, with a peak driving capability of 1 A, that operates from 3.2 V up to 32 V, and is robust up to 40 V, making it suitable for any fan, blower or pump applications operating from 5 V, 12 V and 24 V, as well as portable applications with up to seven Li-ion cells ~29 V.
The MLX90411K fits 5 V, 12 V as well as 24 V consumer/industrial applications, such as white goods and home appliances.  It’s up to 1 A driver stage drives up to 15 W applications on 24 V supply.
The MLX90411L  is AECQ100 certified and can be applied on the automotive battery without additional protections, and survives load dump pulses up to 40 V.  The operating temperature range is from -40 °C to 150 °C.  Typical applications range from LED headlamp fans, seat fans over sensor fans as well as multimedia GPU fans.

The MLX90411 features several adaptive commutation control options for either lowest acoustic noise, or highest efficiency, or lowest EMI.
Both open loop and closed loop speed control is possible, with a wide range of dynamic (PI) settings.
The device is programmable via an I2C interface and all options are configurable in the on-board EEPROM. Based upon 0.18 μm technology, the tiny MLX90411 is available in a straight-lead SOT package (-ZE package code) and a 2.5 x 2.0 x 0.4 mm UTDFN (LD package code) package.
