The MLX91204 is a monolithic Triaxis® resolver reporting fast analog sine and cosine signals for the in-plane components (Bx and By) of the magnetic flux density from a magnet rotating above the device surface (End-of-Shaft magnet).

The in-plane components are measured thanks to the Integrated Magneto-Concentrator (IMC®) placed above a constellation of Hall-Effect sensitive spots (Hall plates).

The absolute angular position of the magnet can be derived from the sine and cosine signals through appropriate off-chip signal processing (Resolver-to-Digital converter).

The high-bandwidth of the MLX91204 makes it very suitable for motor position sensor typically required in advanced commutation techniques (e.g. Field-Oriented-Commutation…).

The sensitivity is factory-programmed and several versions are available.
The MLX91204 has a very stable thermal compensation for both the sensitivity and the Voq over a broad temperature range.
