TruFlux™
TruFlux™ is a proprietary, real-time magnetic hysteresis and non-linearity compensation algorithm engineered for high-precision Hall-based current sensing in sensitive applications.
Originally developed as a cost-effective and galvanically isolated alternative to shunt-based sensors in electric vehicle (EV/HEV) Battery Management Systems (BMS), TruFlux™ processes raw magnetic field data on embedded microcontroller/sensor ICs (such as the MLX91230) to eliminate soft ferromagnetic core hysteresis without requiring per-device magnetic calibration or having to resort to more expensive materials that inherently exhibit lower hysteresis. By applying a standardized mathematical model paired with simple room-temperature calibration, TruFlux™ enables Hall-effect sensors to achieve shunt-matching accuracy (0.3% error) while delivering inherent high-voltage isolation and reducing total module cost by up to 35%. Beyond overcoming traditional magnetic core limitations, the TruFlux™ ecosystem elevates contactless current sensing into a reliable, long-term solution across vehicle power electronics. Where traditional shunt resistors degrade over time due to thermo-electric effects and up to 1% lifetime material drift, TruFlux™-enabled sensors provide stable current monitoring across extreme temperature ranges and operational lifespans. This enables highly accurate State of Charge (SOC), State of Health (SOH), and State of Power (SOP) estimations, transforming Hall-based sensing into a holistic platform for high-voltage battery disconnect units (BDUs), fast-charging systems, and primary powertrain monitoring.
