Product description

The MLX92342/1 is a monolithic sensor IC sensitive to perpendicular or lateral magnetic field (version dependent). The output state of the device is changing the supply current. The two-wire interface not only saves one wire, but also allows implementation of diagnostic functions as reverse polarity connection and malfunction detection.

The MLX92342 can be programmed to act as magnetic latch, unipolar switch or omnipolar switch. The switching thresholds and TC coefficient can be also programmed.

The MLX92342/1 has comprehensive on-chip diagnostic mechanisms, compliant with ASIL-B level. All diagnostic functions are leading to one and the same Safe state, reported with a dedicated Safe current. The user can select between Parallel or Sequential diagnostic modes, respectively selecting between fast magnetic update or fast diagnostic response.

Customers can benefit from the end-of-line (EoL) programming capability of the MLX92342 to trim mechanical tolerances away or alternatively choose a pre-programmed MLX92341 switch device. Programming is available with the PTC-04 or Latch&Switch EVB2 through the VDD pin.

  • Industrial & Mobility: Remote position sensing, motorcycles, and motor commutation.
