Product description
The MLX81119 is a highly integrated automotive LIN RGB LED controller designed to simplify and optimize modern vehicle lighting systems. Building on a proven architecture, it integrates a 1 A DC/DC converter that generates an optimized local LED supply voltage, programmable from 2.5 V to 6 V. This integration significantly reduces power dissipation and thermal stress compared to conventional fixed external solutions while saving critical PCB area by requiring only one inductor and two capacitors.
The device features an 18-channel driver with low-side, 60 mA programmable current sources and independent 16-bit PWM control for smooth color transitions. Powered by a 16-bit MCU with 32 KB Flash, 13.5 KB ROM and 4 KB RAM, the controller includes built-in temperature sensing for active color compensation. Developed according to ISO 26262 to support system implementations up to ASIL B, the MLX81119 also features a robust LIN interface fully compliant with LIN 2.x and SAE J2602 standards, including support for auto-addressing in multi-node modules.
