Melexis announces sponsorship of the environment award at the 2013 Elektras
21 November 2013 - Tessenderlo, Belgium. With the 2013 Elektra Awards, the European Electronics Industry Awards, taking place in just seven days’ time, Melexis has confirmed that it will be the sponsor of the high profile Environment Award category.
As well as presenting a prize, Melexis has hopes of receiving one too. For the second year running the company has been shortlisted for an award - receiving a nomination for its MLX81106 LIN RGB LED driver in the Solid State Lighting Product category. The MLX81106 is a highly sophisticated, freely-programmable IC for automotive ambient lighting. Supporting the generation of up to 1024 different colors, it enables user-controllable illumination of vehicle interiors so that a greater degree of personalization can be realized.
“The Elektras is one of the highlights of the calendar for the electronics sector based here in Europe, and we are really pleased to be associated with such prestigious event,” states Melexis’ Rik Moens, who will bestow the Elektra Environment Award to the category winner at the ceremony next week. “By sponsoring this key award we uphold the company’s pledge to offer support to the on-going protection of the environment and engineer a sustainable future.”
